Zena, I've sent one of your blogs to all intnl. press & diplomats & activists & Jewish press & Israeli Knesset members & local activists & journalists on my mailing list, as I did Rasha Salti's last week. I want you to know that not all Israelis are in favour of these war crimes and obscene acts. Some of us fighting for peace are not being heard enough yet. We are trying. I know one editor wants to run your blog in his paper. Please keep your spirit strong. I send as much love and good energy and hugs as the internet can take.

Hi Zena,
I'm here in New York, feeling miserable about these attacks, and ashamed of my country for aiding in them. I already wrote my senators, and I'm going to try to get everyone I know to do the same. My heart goes out to you. I'm forwarding your blog to everyone, including my conservative pro-Israeli cousins. Hopefully when they see the human toll of Israel's actions, they will change their minds. Stay strong and know that people around the world are trying to put a stop to this. -Sarah in Brooklyn

hi zena,
maybe you know or someone knows someone who wants to contribute.
i got this from a friend today.
habib

This is not a call for burning flags or demonizing the guilty ones and blindfoldly fighting on the side of the righteous ones. Of course the "conflict in the Middle East" has a long history and there are many perspectives on its causes and responsibilities. Although a genuine debate on these issues is an urgent and necessary need the first and foremost step should now be the immediate halt of innocent loss of life. Our main aim is to respond to the disproportionate use of force by Israel and to the irresponsible exposure of innocent civilians to violence and death.

This is a general appeal, calling on everyone to contribute short statements in the form of texts (500 words), short video clips or other materializations of protest. A compilation of statements will be presented to major newspapers, the clips will be shown during the Biennale des Cinémas Arabes in Paris next week and other media.

This appeal is initiated by Joana Hadjithomas, Adila Laidi, Alia Rayyan, and Fouad Asfour. There is no deadline for contributions, we will try our best to screen/publish each of the submitted statements. We will notify you beforehand about the place and time of publication/screening of your text/video clip.

Please feel free to forward this appeal.

Best regards,
Fouad

I weep for you, Lebanon, and all this madness. I know people on both sides are dying, but in Israel, at least they can hide in bomb shelters and if injured have access to hospitals . . .

Hi Zena, thanks for your work here. The Lebanese people have to be heard! A friend of mine who is living in the Beqaa valley is writing a blog too. It's a war diary with a lot of background information. It can be found at http://waronlebanon2006.blogspot.com.
